About six months ago I bought a marlin 336Y. I wanted to short barreled rifle to use for hiking in the mountains. I looked at the rifle over in the store and it looked okay and I bought it. When I got it home and inspected it better I found that the stock was loose and the front sight wiggled. So I took it back to the store and asked them to send it out for repairs which they did. When I got the rifle back I read the repair order and it said that this Tang screw had been stripped the screws in the housing were stripped and that the head spacing was incorrect. You can see where they actually milled the bolt itself. It's kind of scary when I send it out for a loose stock and it came back with all that other work completed. It's good they checked all that stuff but I would think that it should of came that way originally. I will report back on how it shoots after I finish some of my modifications.
