I won a savage 270 but with plenty of deer rifles at home I wanted to trade it for a lever. Dad has a 336 so I was thinking the 1895, do they still make or will they the Cowboy version with longer barrel? Want to do some lead long range shoots with dad.

    Welcome Spelunker.....
It's a good news, bad news situation on the Cowboy 1895. Marlin still shows the .45-70 listed in their on-line catalog, but I don't think they are making/shipping them. Your best bet is to lurk the auction sites.

Ducks Unlimited banquet raffle, not sure I'm in the money yet after the $ I've spent at these types of auctions though.

Called Marlin and they are only making the 1894 now, may switch over this fall to the 1895s
