Some might ask why did you not use a Marlin XS-7 Short Action for the build. Well because they were putting out junk at the time and to my knowledge that has not changed with the XS-7 short action line like Missing threads on the barrels. And at the time which was Feb/2011 Academy had a sale on the Stevens 200 for $175.00 so I could not beat that with a dimpled stick as a Great action to build on. :)

I'm kind of fond of the .35's myself.

Thank You one and all. I have to say after using the 35 Whelen this year for a couple of Hogs and a Couple of Javalina I will pick the 35 Cal first for such hunting. I liked it far better than my 30-06.

Got this 225LB or so pig on 1/29/2012 at 135 yards with the little 35 Whelen with 250Gr Speer Hot-Core and the Hog just flipped over lol. On a further note. Hogs are not this clean lol. I washed it first and let it drip dry for a bit before cutting it up. :)

Yep I can hardly wait to give the 358 Winchester a try on some Hogs. :)
I think I am going to try some of those Hornady 200Gr FTX in the 358 Winchester for grins. :)
