looking to purchase a New Haven, CT Mfg Marlin Guide Gun.

I came across two at a local gun shop in Western CT..........

    1) Marlin 1895 SS 22" 45-70 (Not a Guide Gun)
    Serial # 94XXXXXX / North Haven, CT

    2) Marlin 1895G 45-70 Guide Gun
    Serial # 96XXXXXX / North Haven, CT

Based on the serial numbers are these true Marlin Mfg guns?

    Thanks,
    John

    Serial numbers

Both of those should be manufactured in Marlin factory. The rifles with serial number that begin with "MR" are newer Remington assembled rifles. For example a Guide Gun serial marked MR25823D indicates a post 2010 Remington manufactured rifle.

JR, both are JM Marlins, the SS is a 2006, and the guide gun is a 2004. Either would be a fine choice. And yes both are New Haven CT true Marlins.
