Hi.
I will be making my appearances and smart remarks again soon. I have a new AR on the way so I am making space on the rack and buying accessories for it.

I bought a new Tactical case from Midway in a charcoal gray. Not sure I can find matching boots but I remember my ex had a pair of stiletto heels that color. maybe I can talk her out of them. I gained a lot of weight lately so I KNOW those shoes will fit me now.

I can dye a canvas possibles bag like I use for my blackpowder shooting. I would not call all this accessorizing matching of color but gray in the jungle is neutral just like it is in the woods. Now if I can just find charcoal tight...oops, long johns.

Have any of you tried one of those Safari Slings? Bucky showed me the one he uses. Pretty nice sling. If anyone has used one for an AR let me know how it works.

Home again, Home again...

About time you made it back here, you turkey! ;)
Hey havasu, don't say Turkey this close to Thanksgiving. I gained a lot of weight. Could be insulin...or could be I "gobbelgobbled" too much food. It's good to be back. I only have the Model 60 now as I sold the 336 a couple years ago. But I may get another. Those dang 30-30s are just plain fun to shoot. I started spending too much time in forums with a head as well as an asshole so I decided to bail. This forum has been the most friendly and is good fellowship.

It's about daggone time you found your way back here, glad you made it.:)
I have had a busy day. I brewed 6 gallons of Cerveza today and then I saw I have a leak. I think the faucet is wore out. I notified the maintenance guy so hopefully he will be here tomorrow.

Bud's just emailed me to let me know my new MMR Hunter is on the way. I notified the FL to let him know. I have to drive 25 miles to pick the rifle up so I don't like to waste a lot of time when I pick up a new rifle. I want to get it home and cleaned and ready to go to the range.

Gonna be tight this month. I have 3 VA appointments in Iowa City, 71 miles away, deer season opens on the 14th and I plan to go. I still have to go shoot a few with Ol Viola, my Kentucky 45 rifle, and if I have time, mount a scope and sight in the new AR.

I name all my favorite guns. Ol Viola, as in Ol Voi`la...wallah...or something like that...my Mossberg 464 is Curly Bill and the MMR will be called ARBS. That is what my ex used to call me. As in RB's my initials. But also MMR is an AR and my hunting stories include a lot of BS. Thus ARBS. I have not named the MVP 5.56 yet. ` I may just call it "The Donald" because it is such a straight shooter.

BAHAHAHAHA. Straight Shooter, I just tear me up.

Have a good evening.

Oh, I have to get in at least one more day squirrel hunting. I need me some Uncle Ben's Wild and White Rice/ Stuffed Green Peppers made with stewed tomatoes and, fried and also picked squirrel. It is just Larrupin.

I have been lax in my writing but I will chime in occasionally. I om doing treatments for bladder cancer and I have 3 more left for the first stage. Then I will find out what they need to do next. I am not sick and the treatments are a non issue...as long as that "weak tea" stuff works. I was afraid all my hair was gonna fall out but it started fallin out a couple years ago so I won't be able to tell the difference. My teeth too...I have 3 left. Almost not worth the effort to keep. I figure I should get at least a buck and a half from the tooth ferrie...or is that fairy? I thimply forget.

I still have not got back to the range to shoot the new AR. It had a bad trigger so I had to wait a month to get money for a new trigger group. That got done then this cancer crapola came up and i have not made it out to the range. Then to make matters worse, I got the AR bug and bought a kit and a lower and put a carbine together. It had a problem with the bolt catch/release. It would not catch and with a mag in it would catch but not release. When I dropped the mag it would release and the bolt went into battery.

I had to do some lookin and started with the cheapest quickest You Tube fix...and it worked. The recoil spring was too long...2.75 curls too long...about 3.4". So I whacked it off and backed it off and it worked slick as a greased cat in a wet plastic pipe with a m-90 sizzlin at the other end...or something like that. But I have not made it to the range for that either.

I took the scope off the 464 lever gun and put it on the MMR and am going native with the carbine I built. The lever gun needs a scope so I dug out a Leapers 3-9 x 40 AO Mil Dot with the illuminated reticule. I have to mount that so I can sight it the rest of the way in when I finally go to the range. I will have a lot to haul out there so I got a pull cart that holds 150 lbs. I know it is stronger that advertised because the neighbor lady weighs about 180 and the wheels stayed on but she got PO'd when she had to haul me up 3 flights of stairs. I mean, fair's fair, right? She rode down, I ride up. My guns won't weigh even half that much so I think it will work out ok.

Austin, if you're out there...I will send in some dues as soon as I get my check. I haven't felt too sociable lately but now I am feelin better and hopefully won't be such a drag.

Here is the carbine I put together. Not really a full build but for someone with 11 thumbs...on one foot, I didn't do too badly.

Thanks 28. Prayers are the best medicine. I think the docs are doin their best but no one really knows who really effective these treatments are. So I just decided to go down the path this episode in my life takes me and not whine about it. I will save my whining for all the days I cannot go to the range...and the thank you prayers for the days I can go. And for all my friends.

Doin ok 28. I had 6 more treatments and Sept 10 I go back for more exploratory look see surgery. I feel fine. They just have to keep digging in to see if they got it with the treatments.

I haven't been to any forums and all I do is watch Amazon movies...or work on the finishing touches of my AR's. I installed a 3# Velocity trigger in my carbine and it seems nice and smooth. I will have to try it at the range soon or I will go nutso. I need ot get out more.

My legs and hip seem to be getting stronger too so now I can walk better. After spending almost 6 years afoot when I was homeless wandering from E-W and N-S I should be stronger. It has taken me a long time to even be able to walk a block without having to call a cab. But...I am getting back on the horse.

How's things been goin down your way? I want to keep in touch but most days I just don't have much to say except to tell all about my ailments so I just clam up. I hope all is well with you and the membership. Pass a big howdee around for me ok?

Thanks
h
