It's probably still worth at least $600, even if it is a bastard, as long as it has good headspace, and a reliable shooter.

I’m helping a widow sell her late husband’s collection. One item is carbine that has a 1893 action and walnut stock paired with a 20” round barrel and forend marked 36-RC. Is it common to see this match?
