Just wondering: I can cycle a round (.44mag with Hornady FTX 265 grain bullet) that is 1.770" through my Model 1894. It does rub the plastic/rubber point as it's lifted into place, going into the chamber. Doesn't seem to require much if any extra effort on the lever. Doesn't do any damage to the point even after running it through several times. The case was trimmed to 1.282" and comes to the very top of the crimp ring. I have NOT attempted any reloads yet.
I'm wondering if anyone out there has finally arrived at a safe case and overall length that cycles cleanly in the 1894 and what powders you tried.
Thanks in advance - -
