I just found a very nice 1897 in at least 90% condition. Even the bore is very good with sharp rifling and after a cleaning is shiny. Seems all original and the SN indicates first year build, so it is an antique. Just got back from the Tulsa show and did well selling but did not buy as prices were out of sight, just downright crazy. Was also looking for 44-40 ammo but only found a few boxes that were like $120 to $150 per box. Just will roll my own as I have a bag of brass and lots of cast lead bullets.

love my 1897. mine was made in 1902. Still has lots of case coloring. Shoots pretty good out to about 30 yds. Groups fall apart at 50 yds. I think mostly cause it's hard for me to see. mine has a lyman tang site on it.
