Ok folks I have an opinion question for you all:

-I have a sweet shooting CZ 455 lux and a very nice shooting Marlin 60. I want to place a scope on one (squirrels and targets). Which would you scope and why?

Cheers,

Both are good for squirrels.....for my location the Marlin 60 would be my choice due to dence woods and short distance with quick follow up shots in the tree tops. In which case a wide angle 3x9 is good.

For target depends on distance and application. I shoot bench at 50 yards. Presently I use an old Marlin 80 ( 39 vintage ) with a 24X . The CZ 455 is hard to beat for that application. For the power on it depends on your eyes and the accuracy you desire, the precision of the rifle is not in question.....:D

Lets just say this is my opinion, I would not put a $600 Zeiss on a $200 rifle. Welcome to the Forum

I have a lot of trouble seeing the sights on my Marlin for some reason (front post just disappears for me). The CZ sights allow me to shoot well already, but I'm thinking it would be killer with a scope. Any of you ever put something like a simple open red dot on a 60?

(Thanks for all the 'welcomes')

As far a scoping the CZ I think that would be a good choice Optics planet has free shipping on most of their scopes. I think I remember seeing a red dot on a model 60.or a peep sight

I have the same problem with open sights that you do. It is very hard to focus the rear and the front sights at the same time. This did not become a problem with me until I turned 50. I had my eyes checked and have a current prescription for my glasses but I still can not focus on both!
