Stopped at a gun shop today, and they had a 1969 Texan in 30-30 with a brass saddle ring. The gun looked new! It was marked $380. With tax it comes to $406.60 out the door. Someone please talk me into going back!
Offer them $400 even when you go back to pick it up !! Then post pictures of it as soon as you get it home...OK ?
Call them and say " I'll take it " Offer 400 $ even , just make sure it gets a " SOLD" sign on the tag before someone grabs it out from under you.
definately worth that price! i would give $400 for it without blinking twice, because decent used ones in my area generally run $500 and up.
I went back and got it for $385 out the door. Got it home and took it apart and found a crack in the stock. You can't see it from the outside but I repaired it anyway.
Thanks to all who responded. I like my "new" Marlin. I can't believe a gun that looks that clean on the outside was that dirty on the inside! But she's clean, inside and out, now. And if it ever stops raining I'll take her out to the range. Terry
