Did a trigger job on my 336. remove the sear and very gently remove the burrs and machine marks from the engagement end with a medium stone then finish with some 2000 grit,it only takes a little go easy. Cut one coil off the hammer spring. Perform a "bump test" bring to full cock and tap tap the butt on the floor to make sure it doesn`t slip. My trigger went from 7 1/2 down to 3 pounds. nice & crisp.
DISCLAIMER. Do not attempt this if your not confident, take to a gunsmith or buy a trigger happy kit.

I did this to my 1895 GS and my 336 SS both came out very nice. My older Marlins have not needed it.

Hmm. I've been thinking of building a gig to face triggers and sears. I've got so many irons burning right now that seems remote for a while. I might try to free hand my 94CS. I've done a few and haven't screwed one up yet.
