Hey CptJack,

Welcome to Marlin Forum.

I use these guys http://pennbullets.com/ and these folk http://moyerscastbullets.com/

For target work, a 350grLFP or 405grLFP (whichever your rifle shoots best) and 13.0 to 14.0gr of Unique or Universal Clays. Easy on the shoulder and wallet.

Rx7, 4198's, 3031's, H 322 are all used.

I have had good success with 4198 and H 322 for hunting ammo.

Here is some good info http://www.gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htm

If you are set up for casting, take a look here http://noebulletmolds.com/

Their molds and push through sizer is the BOMB!

Hey Jack,

Look at the bore. You can easily discern Micro-Groove vs Ballard Rifling in .45caliber rifles with the naked eye.

There are a lot of pics on line, for "reference".

Skinner Sights!

Thought I'd get a peep sight, any budgeting suggestions for improvement to the open sights

Hey Crosseye,

Take a look at Skinner Sights. http://skinnersights.com/

Have them on three of my Marlins.:D

The 300gr HP is devastating on venison. (never got a hog)
