I need some info on it before I get it... Accuracy? Range ? Hunting ability? Etc. or any other suggestions on a gun before I get this one.

The Marlin 980S is a 7 shot bolt action chambered for .22 long rifle ammo with a stainless steel barrel

and receiver set in a black synthetic stock. It's overall length is 41 inches and weighs in at 6 lbs.

The trigger system is the new T-900 fire control system.

The sights are adjustable semi-buckhorn folding rear, ramp front sight with high visibility, orange

front sight post with a cutaway Wide-Scan hood. Receiver is grooved for scope mount, and drilled and tapped for scope bases.

The accuracy is excellent with just about any ammo you care to shoot...with range consistant with that of any .22 caliber fodder.

It will drop small game and steel plates with equal ease...all in all, it's the gun you want to take for a fun day at the range.
