The 99M1 and 989M2 have all the parts available and can be refurbished nicely. I have two 99M1s and would love to add a 989M2 to the rack.

The bullseye is simply Marlin marketing. It's the white circle with the black center in the bottom of the stock near where the rear sling stud would go. It allowed shoppers to easily identify Marlin's in a rack. It is only used in walnut stocks from the factory and can be replaced if missing or some uniformed person put the sling stud through it.

I also modified a '67 version of the 99M1 to take Tech Sights but have the original sight for both. I would post some pictures of mine, but Photobucket has changed their terms of service and all my pictures are gone.

How similar is the Model 99c to the 99M1 concerning the firing mechanism? Found a 1961 Model 99c that looks like a parts gun. Thanks.

Should be identical for interior parts. Many newer Model 60 parts will work as well, including the new buffers

Did Photobucket just do this?

They have a section called "plans" now but none of my existing photos were visible in my library. It could have been a hiccup in my internet service, but I think they have moved away from the free image hosting to a paid service only

Although I just checked and my pictures are visible in the iPad app, but when trying to put one in below.....doesn't appear to be working
