Welcome Mark! Glad to hear there some starting to come in...at least for you.

West central MO still experiencing major shortages. 22 shot caps and blanks only. Common pistol ammo...what's that stuff look like? You won't find any .223/5.56 but there's trickling supplies of TULA 7.62 shorties in HP. Shotgun shells are even down. Places getting in the over-kill turkey fodder that makes buying those rounds painful on the billfold  On-line, you can't even find the old 303 British, just an occasional 7.62X54 and shotshells.

I'd just like to know who bought the bulk of it? Common folks or the greedy reselling types. Got a fair supply in the 'bunker', but always room for more :D Heed the Marine General's warning...save 'em for when you need them!

If any shows up in the stores around here you had beter be there when they bring it out front. everybody has a limit as to how much you can buy at inflated prices. Mostly what is available is the odd non mainstream ammo. 9mm Makarov I can get, 9X19, good luck. Been playing with the air rifles and started back with archery. Have what I need for hunting and zero checks.

I scored some .22lr at the local WallyMart but I'm pretty sure I caught the sales clerk holding the ammo back. As I hit the counter, he was ringing up ammo for another customer. He asked me if I needed help (with that I hope you don't want ammo look) and I asked if they had .22lr. He said yeah, apparently, this customer found some behind the counter (hmmmmm.....out of sight, still in the case box?) I only bought 2 of my 3 box limit and the guy after me bought the rest.

I'm just saying if you have a friend at the ammo counter, you're in better shape than others.

@ favbal Have you PROOF? Have you taken any steps to address the matter with Corporate? I really DO NOT like to spend my funds in WalMart for many reason, but economy dictates. I bad mouth HQs, not the staff for their take-over and the govt's aide in allowing them to work toward a monopoly...darn near it. Academy, spent too many $$$ on hunting, fishing, golf and other things there and never encountered a problem in Gretna, LA.

Personal speculations and Freedom to speak ARE STILL a Constitutional/ GOD-granted principle of life in this Republic. Just say whatcha mean and mean whatcha say. Integrity matters!

My point: I believe it to be truly unwise to make bold (written) accusations unless you can provide substantive proof(s). I'm sure they are taking the "cream", and getting their "3 box/day limit...but the Dept and / or Store Mgr need to be tossed out on their butts IF you allegations hold water. It would damn sure be inconsistent with W-M's personnel standards of behaviors! There invasive questioning on the application for employment makes it pretty clear, they want obedient and honest employees to maintain and boost the Company's bottom line/net profits.

It's True

No video or affidavits but Yes it's true. The person who bought from one of the people in Academy is a family member of mine. He bought a new 9mm and wanted to go shooting. He spoke with one of the employees about ammo. He was told he could hook him up. He called the number he was given and met the guy who he had seen behind the counter at H.E.B. ( a local supermarket). He had a box of 250 rounds fmj and asked for $155. He being new to firearms went ahead and bought the box. He told me about it and I immediately got pissed. He doesn't want to be singled out at the store so he has not given me the number. I am getting pissed all over again just writing this up. I shouldn't of read your post. I am angry now. Especially because Academy has failed to do anything about it. I told them that they can review their cameras if they wanted proof. I was told that even if they see them purchasing it they really won't be able to tell if they are reselling or stocking up as everyone else.

I'm the guy that enjoys a challenge and "penning" a note to Academy HQ will be my pleasure. May not cure their ills, but I gotta try for the sake of Integrity and fairness to all others. I would bet that everyone here that reads these posts share your anger and my disgust.

When the matter hits the swirling blades...anyway you can will become the rule of the day on ammo, but until then, fair marketing or face a virulent challenge to the character of any business or full frontal assault on an individual's character. Making life more difficult for others requires a dose of the same.

Have a pleasant day.

What about making this a Petition?

I had never heard of Academy Sports until I moved to TX. There is one in Tyler. I have not dealt with them as Gander Mountain is down the road a short piece and I found more of what I liked there than at Academy.

How can we members of this forum who are in near proximity to an Academy Sport Store place our signatures on a petition before you send out the shredder?

Give me little time to see hombre`. I'll let ya'll know in a day or two. Finally got some reloading supplies in. Gotta build a batch or 22-250s for a buddy this weekend and I've got a bunch of pistol brass that needs stuffing, so now there's the "good" powders to be had.

Spoon, thanks but don't rob your supply. I am in no hurry. I have plenty of the main stuff. I should probably hold off anyway as I plan to head north to grab what reloading materials I can and bring it back...sooner than expected...like in about 3 weeks. I should save the money for the trip. Then I will have all the reloading stuff I will need for a long time. (plus hopefully my beer and wine and meat processing stuff.)

I've found that if you can find out what day Big 5 gets their deliveries, and can manage getting there an hour and a half before opening you've got a decent chance of getting ammo. I tried this 2 weeks ago, was first in a line of 12, and when they opened I asked what they got in 22LR, and the clerk said they'd only gotten 1 box in. It turned out to be a 1000 rnd double Winchester brick! All of the guys behind me let out a collective groan!
If you happen to live on So Cal, as I do, Field Time in Stanton has their reloading machines running round the clock. I've been able to get 500 end cases of .223, 9mm and 45 jacketed acp. Prices are good, and they're reloading once used brass and new brass.
