Anybody else have a Model 1893 32-40

I inherited a Marlin Model 1893 chambered in 32-40, manufactured in 1901. Of course, I soon learned that you can't get ammo for it anymore. Does anyone else have one of these, and if so, what do you do for ammo? I am in the process of acquiring all the equipment I need to reload these. I have learned that I can reform 38-55 or 30-30 cases and can get .321 bullets.

Hello Johnlm,

I too have just acquired an 1893 in .32-40 calibre. I haven't any issues in finding ammunition and have quite a bit as I have other rifles in that calibre. The rifle seems pretty good, I just would like to know how old it is. The serial number is 387xxx, so hopefully I find out some day.

Hey John,

30-30 brass would be "cheapest/easiest" to "form".

A dab of Imperial Sizing Wax on the expander ball....

8gr to 10gr of Unique or Universal Clays and a good cast bullet ....away you go! http://www.gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htm
