Night before last my wife and I watched "The Homesman" Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank. It came out in 2014 but somehow we missed it, and I am an avid fan of Western movies. After seeing it, I got to wondering if any of the members here also saw it and what you thought of it. I thought it was an exceptional film, but brutally honest in places. I also noticed, and verified that TLJ's holster and belt, as well as the saddles in the movie were made by David Carrillo, leather maker in California who also made the belt and holster rigs for Brad Pitt in "The Assassination of Jesse James" film. I appreciated the authenticity in The "Homesman" as the setting was in Nebraska during the black powder era, and featured period-correct open-top, cap and ball Walker and Dragoon style revolvers, some with octagon barrels. If any of you haven't seen it, and love Westerns as much as I do, I recommend it, but it is NOT a film for young children.
