One more stock in the process of refinishing. This one is from a model 60, sanded down to bare wood and a few coats of Minwax "Gunstock" stain, the grain looks pretty good. I will finish with Tung Oil, several coats over the next week or so.

That's some pretty good grain showing there. I love it!

That is pretty. What color stain did you use. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Minwax, variety is appropriately called "Gunstock", got it at Home Depot

I have used, Ebony, Provincial and Dark Walnut varieties as well

Good job Matt...

Was reading up on my 1980's Glenfield Marlin Model 60...seems it was made from Birch too !!

Still in great shape for an 1980 firearm...the wood is perfect.
