Ok, someone please tell me I'm not totally nuts...

I had a spare Marlin stock sitting around, and it got to looking at me cockeyed the other day. After I had put a few beers in me, it was looking at me again yesterday, and after a short but volatile argument with said stock, I got out the power tools...

The 22" barrel results in a decidedly front heavy pistol. I left plenty of meat up front for a solid and controllable handhold, while still being noticeably shorter than the original. I'll be doing a bit of fine tuning to the grip shape for comfort and accuracy, and I need to round the edges up front a bit more, but then it's polish, stain and finish time. I believe I'll go with a red mahogany/ebony mix with this stock, then finish with polyurethane.

I just got done shooting the gun in this configuration - As expected, it's slightly more difficult to shoot with precision, but it isn't bad. One handed like a pistol, it's definitely difficult to stay on paper, but using a support hand, it's quite a fun challenge to shoot 12ga and .410 hulls at 25ft

What I'd really like to do is find a Glenfield Model 75C to put in this stock. I think the 16" barrel would balance a lot better.

Making a "Clip on" or Breakaway stock for it is my next mission. After all - I already have the stock, just need to figure out an attachment solution. Any ideas? This is keeping in mind I don't own or have access to a router.

I'm thinking that converting a rifle to a handgun may involve some legal issues depending on where you live. Might want to check it out to make sure you don't bring big brother down on your head.

The legal length limits as per ATF regulations are 16" or longer for the barrel, and 26" or longer overall. My "rifle" is 22" barrel, 32" overall. I'm within the legal limits.

Whether the gun has a stock that you can mount to your shoulder is irrelevant.

If I had cut the barrel down shorter than 16", or my overall length was shorter than 26", I would be in hot water without the proper paperwork.

I have been studying these laws in depth for the past several years (and wrote research papers on several of them as part of my legal degree), so I am unlikely to accidentally violate the law, and I wouldn't intentionally do so.

As far as jurisdiction - I live in Florida and am licensed to carry a concealed weapon - I have no restrictions as to what I can own provided I follow federal law.

If I had the Glenfield 75C instead of a Glenfield 60, I'd probably have a reasonable chance of concealing it under a coat in a shoulder rig of some sort. As it is now, though, the barrel is too long

For carry purposes, I prefer my M&P40c

I was actually thinking about getting a box of golf balls for target practice

I've decided that I *really* need to find a 75c, or find a 60 that has a broken mag tube and cut it to 16" and crown it.

Whats really fun and cheap to shoot are a bag of paint balls, they explode with perty colors

I like shooting charcoal briquets - they explode when you hit them, they don't paint my yard all sorts of colors, and the rain washes them away.

I have a few cans of beer here that turned bad when I moved - those will make good targets too if I shake them up really well before I shoot them.

ritz crackers are great too - and they feed the critters.

That stock adapter is WAY overpriced for what it is, but I can probably make something.

What were they charging you? I think it's about $30 or so. They get $150 for the pistol grip and collapsible stock for the SU series. Let me know, I might be able to get it for you. Gun looks good... different but good.

Can't get just the bolt on parts. Have to get the pistol grip assembly too. With or without stock. With the stock it's $133.

I use this one as a shotgun from time to time - .22 rat shot is good stuff on snakes.
