Building a match grade 1911

Lets see for starters a good frame to slide fit, barrel bushing toleranceMill work lathe

With my slide removed and barrel in the slide, the lugs. there seems to be too much side to side play.
I have toyed with the idea of building my own 1911. Some pretty good frame deals going on now. Not necessarily match grade, just a nice shooter.
I build competition grade 1911's. Caspian arms slides guaranteed against cracking forever. They will hand lap slide to frame for a small fee. They sell everything for 1911s except barrels. Great quality
With my slide removed and barrel in the slide, the lugs. there seems to be too much side to side play.
Check the barrel hood to slide clearance. It is the rear portion of the barrel that fits into the slide. Bushing should be in the barrel when checking.
Barrel should rotate slightly
