I haven't really kept count but I seem to shoot one every now and then. The last two I shot ran off and we blood trailed one for a mile before it got late. I dont like to injure any animal without a clean kill but these hogs are such a nuiscance I sometimes take shots I wouldn't normally take. I would rather him run off and die than keep making babies. We'll make this young sow into breakfast sausage. If I kill an old hog I dont eat them because they stink so bad. Fom

I've read and seen a lot about hog invasions but haven't had anything this far south.

It's on my list of things to hunt.

I know hogs have become a big problem for many areas, but I envy you guys who have it. I love pork and hunting, and would love to have hogs to shoot. I looked and it seems we may about 30 hogs in one remote area. But lots of guys have gone looking and reported no sightings.:(

They're pretty scarce in Missouri too. A few concentrated populations near Ft Leonard Wood but most of them are on the base.

Some populations pop up in southern MO but they tend to be on private property and get taken quickly.

Man I live right on th edge of town, and out of the tree line by our apartments a group of at least 10 wanders in to an open field.. I can't tell you how itchy my finger got.. I watched them for like an hour.. Totally wish i had my bow setup for hunting, instead of for hay targets...

Mama always said that'll stick to your ribs. If you could see me now you would know mama was always right. Fom
The one thing I miss most about living in NC. Biscuits and gravy. Every time the itty-bitty ol' ma and me go to NC to Jr's. house, the first place I head to is that little place on Chapel Hill Rd outside of Cary/Raleigh.

When I get my biscuits and gravy, I know everything is right with the world.

We are just starting to see signs of feral hogs here in indiana in the last couple of years. DNR wants them wiped out, and they DO cause a lot of damage.....but i`ve always wanted to hunt them, so i`m torn as to whether I want to see them get established or not. on the one one hand, they are an invasive species that cause a lot of damage, but on the other hand, they`d be a year round shooting/hunting opportunity...
