Funny thing !
I just remembered that the first I tried the method I described above in the field, I did the job, and somehow lost the little ejector spring/clip.
Took the rifle out the next day, and discovered the spent shell still in the breach but hanging in there, at almost 90 degrees to the Port.
MMmmmmm ! I thought, better look for the ejector clip, but it was never found.
My turn to go Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
Better start looking.
Local Gun Shop fellar over here, said it would be 6 or 8 weeks to get one in through the Australian Dealerships.
So I jumped on the "Net" sourced one in the States, and had them put the spring in an envelope just mail it Air Mail.
6 Days later, I was putting it in the .444, simple as that.
Just for interest sake I went back to the Local Gunshop 6 weeks later, and he still didn't have it. 3 Months later, still not in, and that was the last time I ever went back to him.
Needless to say, within 12 months he went broke.
He was a DH anyway, but I used him for a few years, as he was local.
How sad, never mind.
