Any other coffee lovers in the community?

I drink it all day up till 5, then stop so my heart can slow down before I go to bed.

I just finished up an Old World Espresso form Riverfront Roasters, it was excellent.

vinegar, eggshells and vanilla

A drop of Vinegar will separate them grounds
I just filter it if it needs it and then there's no aftertaste...or eggshells.
Does anyone here make their coffee in a percolator? I was thinking of getting one but no one seems to use them anymore and I'm wondering why. Maybe you all know something I don't know?
I have a few but they are hand me downs from my Grandfather. I'm not a fan in general but it can be done well.
I have one i use when camping
I have a one exclusively for camping. I think fondly of it, but it's the worst coffee ever.

Juan Valdez...the Folgers commercials guy who always has his donkey with him.
Ok :D

It does get spit out into the fire quite often. Sometimes people hand it back to me like they don't need it that bad.
The reason I dont care for Folgers is thats all the guy at work would buy.The coffee pot he wouldnt clean and I watched him empty the grounds in the garbage bangin the coffe filter basket in side the garbage can  I guess that would add to the taste of his Gourmet Coffee

Folgers isn't bad coffee. But I imagine there is a tattoo on your memory about your friend at work banging the basket on the trash can. But, some dish soap and water should clean up that problem. It is hard for me to feel it though. I am not quite so squeamish.

After all, I eat beef tongue, chicken gizzards and mountain oysters and the occasional egg sandwich. Know what I mean?
I haven't had Folgers in over 30 years. My wife bought MJB and we never went back to Folgers.

Twenty five + years ago I ran gas piping to a coffee roaster in a local coffee shop and started drinking good coffee.

The trouble with the "big can" coffees, like Folgers is, it's roasted lightly so that it keeps for a longer time. Even lightly roasted coffee will go stale in about two weeks, and if you buy the big cans you can't use it before it goes stale.

Roasting coffee darker, brings out the more complex flavors, but it shortens the shelf life of the coffee.

I drank Folgers for over 15 years, and thought, that's what coffee tastes like. So if that's what you drink, stay with it. Because if you start drinking the "good stuff" you won't be able to go back!
I started drinking 8 o'clock Columbian a couple years ago, grinding the bean and I like it way better than Folgers. Lately I started using a French Press and it is even better. I have seen the MJB brand and wondered if it was ok...maybe I will give that a whirl.
We used to store our opened cooffee in the fridge to keep it fresh
I should stay out of this, but;
My bride insisted that we have a Keurig. And, so we do. Why is beyond me. At 60 cent or more per cup plus distilled water, it must be good???? Right?????
That is more expensive than 9mm shells!!! Thank goodness I don't drink 50 cups at a time. LOL

Two of my three kids got a Keurig for Christmas. My daughter gave me her 4 cup Mr. Coffee drip coffee make since she got the Keurig. I couldn't be happier. I have graduated from the occasional cup of instant coffee to coffee every morning now. And the small size is just the right size for me.
Coffee pot quit at the shop yesterday...(the boys were devastated) I told them I have an old army recipe..So with a steel can and the oxy-accetylene torch we made some brew...For a second there I was in my youth on the Serbian border...

A country boy can survive :D

We used to store coffee in the fridge too, but the man in the coffee shop said, it's not a good idea. It seemed counterintuitive, but I now keep it on a shelf, or in the coffee grinder.
