G Day from "Down Under"

April, May and June are mostly put aside for me and my Sambar Deer Hunting. Thats not to say that I don't hunt any time, but that's the main time I love travelling up into the Victorian High Country Hunting..."NO BLOODY Snakes".

This year I went to a Different Tact and Location, namely "Swifts Creek", which is basically at the fppt of Mt Hotham, a 4 1/2 hrs drive from home.

Then I did another first........I got "Written Permission" from the landowners, to spotlight Bambi, on their properties.
Yes you heard it right, to Spotlight Deer.

Now you may think that this is cheating, and frankly so do I, but Sambar Deer are in such big numbers here, that Game Management Victoria, amended it's "no spotlights" rule probably 4 years back, and until this year, I resisted.
Not any more.
Bugger it, "I'm in for the Kill, too".

Could be very interesting....!.........Give it a try, see if I like it !

If I don't, then its back up to my favorite place, the "Dog Hill", the Airstrip, up hill from Mt Tamboretha, Horseyard Flat, and the Alpine National Park

Cheers
Bucky
You can shine those deer but don't try to shine us. We want to see real pictures of them dead deer this time, not museum pieces.:D Even the ones with rope burns on their necks.

Hombre
You'll keep
I have still got a bit of Bambi, left in my fridge...
Pies, Suasages, Schnitzels, and mince....

How much Did you say you had ????

:):D
I have a storage locker full of it. I got deer, elk, some elephant from last year, but only one 500 lb steak left. I got some water buffalo and some Crock too. A lotta bull and even some Jackalope. One freezer is full of rattlesnake but I must admit I had to wear gloves when I got them.

Want to buy a bridge? How bout some reclaimed swamp land?

In the last few weeks I have had a group{4} of deer on or around my property. I love living out here in the countryside.
I sure would like to go on one of those hunting trips but I know it isn't going to happen so I sure would like to hear the whole story of your hunting excursion down under. I doubt it will have as much action as one from Hombre though, but it might not have as much dung in the mind picture portrayed either. Hombre can have a good time even in not so good times. That's the way to be though.
You think that other stuff is fun, i got ideas I haven't even thought of yet.

I heard that Iowa was having a lot of problems with elephants last year. I must say that I'm surprised about the Jackalopes, don't they compete with the elephants for territory?
The Jackalopes are ferocious little critters if you eat their bananas but the elephants just let em gnaw on their toenails and when they are done, they give em some skin. Banana skin. We had to go after some rogue elephants last year and we found out just how to eradicate them. But I will have to relate that tale later as I have tired myself out trying to come up with cockandbull story about wombatbats.:D
