Medium rare Sirloin steak with mushroom caps and carmelized garlic served on a sizzling hot pewter plate with a loaded baked potato...salad of tomatoes, red onions, and cucumbers with Italian dressing on the side !!

Big Frosty mug of Guiness Stout to wash it down...

That will be my Saint Patricks "month" dinner this Saturday !!

I'm 100% Irish...and growing up I had all the ham & cabbage I wanted to eat for a lifetime...

Sounds fantastic.

I love steak, but it seems only so many people can produce what I like about it. Rare is best, but having it messed up is the worst.
you got that right!..... a good steak once overdone is just another piece of meat

When I was a kid, my parents used to cook steak well done to the point of being just this side of charcoal. When I started grilling out on my own, I learned that if you take good beef and grill it just to the point that it stops mooing, the meat is far more tasty. Add some good mashed potatoes mashed with a little bit of onion for taste, fresh corn on the cob, and asparagus, and this old boy's in hog heaven!

we have a small mom and pop grocery store in town that has the best steaks there are. they cut them to order if wanted. thus was something i learned a long time ago about grilling steaks, the cut and quality of the steak was the biggest key. second biggest key, a good hot fire under the meat while cooking. fast and hot, with a good cut of steak and don't overcook it. i season mine with just salt and pepper and a little cajun seasoning. keep the meat moist while cooking, i use vegatable oil in a squirt bottle and spray the meat with it every time it's turned over. mmmmm! good!

Southern fried chicken with all the fixings, and Widmer Bros hefeweizen. I can eat chicken everyday and pretty much do, married to a nurse and all. There was a time when the kids called all meat chicken, and I've heard "Chicken again!?" a thousand times.

So now I guess I'll have to avoid this thread!.. Every time I revisit it, I start drooling :p and thinking about what to have for dinner, even if it's @ 5am!

I can taste that charcoal grilled steak as I type! LOL

I do that a lot. It makes my entire house smell like grease for a week.
