For some odd reason, the Marlin Camp 9 and Camp 45 have a different way of deciphering the date of manufacture as opposed to all other methods for concerning lever and bolt action Marlins.

Anyone here know how to figure it out for the Camp Carbines?

Not sure there is a way to date them as they were only produced for 15 years 1986-1999, not much of a production run which is why they are sought after

Hi everyone. Just got off the phone with a fella at Marlin who told me my Marlin Camp 9 was one of the last ones made. He said they officially stopped production in the year 2000.

So, it looks like my carbine is 13 years old. :D

If you still have the phone number...please post it here. Thanks !
1-800-544-8892 The fella that answered was real polite and didn't come off as if he were being pestered. I told him it was a Marlin Camp 9, and he asked for the serial number. I told him what it was and he said: "It is one of the last to have been made before they were discontinued in 2000. Hence, he said mine was made in 2000.

Hope this helps you fellas who own a Camp Carbine.
