Retiring, thanks... It is what I love to do.... customize, restore and one off's....

Spoon, that is a Westernfield Lever action .22lr. Made by Mossberg M895. Same as the Palamino without the checkering. It is a late to mid 50's. Sorry to say (kind of) that I just sold it last week. It was a fun gun to shoot.

Ok, here is the 99 I finished yesterday. I got it in great shape but the stock needed to be refinished. The bluing and paint were all in excellent shape. I put a newer style feed throat in it and it shoots like a champ.

Whats wrong with the stock? It has a nice grain to the wood unless your talking about bringing out the grain more.

Nothing is wrong with the stock now.... I did a light sanding on it to get a few dings out and minor blems, 5 coats of boiled linseed oil and she is good as new. Beautiful grain in this one too.

Ok so I have a trigger guard, can find one for xt 22 even marlin doesn't sell them. So I found a thread on this forum, got an 882 trigger guard fits like a gem, off eBay. Now the project is finding a screw that fits it, needs to be counter sunk since the 882 takes one. So Home Depot probably has one going later on. I had a synthetic stock so the rear takedown screw had a flat Allen key head, which doesn't fit in the 882 trigger guard, thus the countersunk screw 10-32 1 1/2 inch countersunk machine screw. Also if u have synthetic stock you will need to get a rear trigger guard screw, any appropriate size will work, countersunk also. The floor plate screws need to be replaced, they are too small to fit in the pre drilled holes, again any appropriate wood screw would work.
Hope you get one of these, it really increases the stability of the rifle
Numrich has the parts but they are out of stock
Sorry for the long response, took me like 10 weeks to track down the right parts. Good luck
