The only difference between the Ruglin and my 1997 JM Marlin, is the grip cap. That and the Marlin has the better micro-groove barrel, and better checkering. I'll pass on the Ruglin.

Matter of opinion. I find the new rifling from Ruger to be superior as well as the checkering. Don't get me wrong, you have a nice en right there!

I just acquired the new Ruger Marlin 336 and have found it to be an awesome piece of work. The trigger is heavy and I am certain that over time it will wear in. Any input on this new piece is appreciated. I also have the original Marlin 1936 in 30.30.
