Well, at 600-800 lbs it takes 7 good men and a horse to drag it. I have seen outfitters quarter a big elk and haul the beast out on pack horses. One man cannot do it alone. Unless he has a lot of time and is named Hercules.
Awesome Elk !! Yeah, that's around 80-100 pounds per leg then 50 lbs of backstrap, what about the neck ?
you need 3-4 good buddies (with pack-boards) for an Elk, :rolleyes: Oh Yeah, + a 100 lb rack, Yeesh !!
that's a lot of work, but totally worth it, IMO !! :D
