I know I said I wouldn't mess with the .308 reloads until after deer season ! But I just can't help it. In goin thru some loads in my Rem 700 I have found a formula that it REALLY LIKES...
In doing so I have discovered BRASS does make a difference. I started using PPU brass. Shot great groups..had a problem extracting. Shot them thru the friends Rem 770....again great groups...extracting problem. I reloaded using Remington and Winchester brass....NO PROBLEMS...with the same group results. I have taken the PPU brass and destroyed it.
I'll shoot the reloads this deer season and let the grandsons shoot the Rem factory loads....Well Maybe....
As soon as I reload more will run some thru their guns and check em out.
