Try lanolin
I know they wipe their rifle's down in Nowray with it.
Here in Oz, use a local product called Lanox,
Which is made by a mob called Inox, with lanolin in it. That is the best stud I have ever seen.
Leaves silicone products, and RP7 or any other dewatering compounds for deal
