My machine shop is fixin my front rest. Not that it is broken but needs a little TLC. He will bore out the base that holds the riser (thingy that goes up and down) Looks like they bored it out with a Rock Auger, lots of chatter marks. No where near the same diam the full length. Its narrower in the middle than on both ends which causes the riser to wobble some. After its bored right he will make another riser shaft that rides in it. The factory one, although ok will then be to small for a snug fit. Always plain around trying to find a few more thousands. .........

Money wont buy Happiness.... but makes the down payment on a REALLY GOOD TIME ....... :D

Paul from the machine shop called today. My rest will be ready tomorrow. Would have been today but after milling the new shaft he decided to change out the roller bearing ring in the top of the shaft to a bronze type Thrust Washer. Said in this application is MO Better. He gets paid the big bucks to know that stuff so I said go for it.

Got the front rest back today. Tested it with about 75 rounds. It is now TIGHTER THAN A TICK. No wobble. I like it. Tomorrow my shipment of new ammo to try is scheduled for Delivery. Its Lapua Center-X. A fellow shooter let me try some last match and I liked it, or I should say my gun liked it. Im getting 2 bricks (1000 rds) and if its good will order more.

Kind of rainy today so will work on some equiptment. Will change out the Port Level Loading Block on the front rest to be able to remove and add new loaded boxes. Now I have to place new rounds in the loading block before each match card. I have assembled 5 boxes that can be pre loaded with 25 rounds for each card prior to the 4 card match. As each card is shot just take out the empty box and slide in a new pre loaded one. Just have to make a new top for the boxes to slide in and out.

Also will re align my scope. With the rest level side to side and the target hung level it dosnt want to track straight across. I read an article this morning on the subect. My front bag is level side to side so I will re align the cross hairs by rotating the scope in the mounts. Seems common sense but those are the things I tend to overlook. If the gun wants to sit in a level bag and is canted as long as its consistant "Change the Scope" .......
