Hello from Wake County North Carolina. I'm a newb here but not to firearms being the
owner of several handguns, rifles and shotguns. I currently own one Marlin a 336CS in
30-30 that was manufactured in 1983 according to the serial number. I bought it second
hand around fifteen years ago and it has served me well as a woods gun for deer hunting.
I've swapped scopes on it a couple of times but my rifle is still in great shape and sees time
in woods and heavy brush every deer hunting season.

I'm planning on purchasing a 1895 in 45-70 in the very near future. The only thing that
I'm trying to make my mind up about is barrel length. As of now, I thinking about the
22" to give me a little flexibility but I believe the 18" would make a good choice for heavy
cover and pinging steel plates. I can't wait to turn my shoulder black and blue with the
45-70, whatever choice I make!
