Brought this one home from the famous Wonnagatta Valley, yesterday, in the Victorian High Country.
The Gods, and the Mrs, are smiling again.

Bucky, did you get a chance to weigh the bugger?

I know...cut it up into 8" long pieces of jerky and weigh the jerky, dehydrate it, then weigh again and multiply by 1.66 (it loses about 2/3 or more of its moisture when dehydrated.) Send me everything over 5 lbs of what ya get in jerky. Not COD please. Hehehehe

    No weight Mate.
It was a head shot from approx 15yds, with the 270.
on steep ground, and had to tie back leg to tree to stop it sliding down the hill.
harvested all legs, and inner and outer backstraps.
600 yard, and 1.5 hour carry out to Wonnagatta River, then another 400 to my Vehicle.
Done in 5 stages, of carry bits to a point, and then go back to get more.
Disappointed that the Stags (2 of them, gave us the slip) but happy in one way, as the carry out would have taken all day.

    2 "old codgers" absolutely stuffed
    but had a ball.
