Found one. A 1980 Glenfield 60 with the squirrel stock, looks a like it's been shot maybe 50 times. The sick part, I put a silent auction bid of $60 on it and won. $69 out the door. It's apart right now waiting on a new buffer to arrive. I put Tung Oil on the stock, no other refinishing, added sling studs ($3). I also put on the Williams FP-AG ($35) I'm also waiting for a front ramp and Marbles front sight ($30) to arrive. $142 total.

I also fell into a 1983 Marlin 70 for $125. This was an estate my FFL was liquidating, he sent the list out and I happened to on my iPad when the email arrived. I responded in about 30 seconds with, "I'll take #13 the Marlin 70, now to look at the rest of the list". I ordered Tech Sights ($80), 4 extra 10 round mags ($90, damn), sling studs, swivels and a GI sling ($30). No refinishing, just Tung Oil, it still had the 22LR warning sticker on the stock. So for $325 total, I have another Appleseed rifle ready to go.

This makes 13 Marlin rimfires. Marlin 56, 80G, 99M1, 70HC, 70, 995, 60, 60, 60SB, Glenfield 25, 25 and 60. The 13th is a model 60 receiver and barrel that was canibalized for the action and stock. It's now wearing a Butler Creek 795 stock (the $20 sale) and I bought a model 70/989/995 action for it, so it wil be the detachable magazine model 60.

Pics of the latest 3 to follow when they are all back together.

Back down to 15 Marlins. I sold a Remington 33 and Marlin 60 ('87) this morning for $290 total. Still have an ad up for the '74 Glenfield, asking $180 w/scope, $150 without. Plus the 2300 rounds of crappy Federal ammo I sold for $140 last week.

Teenagers are too damn expensive, so I needed funds for the next projects. But I'm hoping to turn those 3 and 2300 rounds into 5 project rifles.

Since the '83 model 60 has been completely canabalized for parts, was down to 13. But, added the '85 model 60 so back up to 14

    Hi Guys:

I am basically new here. But my quest is to collect ALL the Marlin Lever action calibers EVER MADE.

I have ALL the modern calibers and I am currently working on the 100 year old hyphenated calibers.

I believe I have 29 Marlins at the present time. So if I could be of some assistance to some of your questions please let me know.

    Regards PAHunter

Nice collection! I have a few Lever actions but I am more of a bolt fan.

Nice to see all those Marlins! Question - I thought the "First Rule of Gun Collecting" was to never count them as that might invite the wife to do the same? I'm sure more than a few of us would be in trouble if the little woman decided to peek in the safe. That's also why I avoid stainless steel and nickel plate.

My wife is my biggest problem in buying guns. When I get one, she has to get one too. She even has her own big safe. :)

Count yourself lucky Birddog! Mine doesn't like guns but tolerates my interest in them. What's unfortunate is that my kids don't really have the interest either.

You need to change that my friend! The future of 2A issues depends on the future generations. I know you know that, but just sayin'...

Both kids are in their mid-20s so not likely to happen.

Two, right now. First is a Model 39A I bought about 15 years ago, the second is a Model 60 blued with synthetic stock.

Some nice collections indeed on this thread. I too collect Marlins however I'm primarily interested in the Guide Gun / Outfitter models. I do stray from them occasionally and pick up things like the their 410 lever gun and older bolt action 22's. Okay, I've had my share of 1894 ported shorties too.
