i recently got a older 1895 marlin. i can’t find a jm mark on the barrel, it is a micro groove barrel . was it common for barrels to slip thru without being stamped ?

I have a couple of older Marlins that weren't JM stamped. A model 1897 made in 1902 and a model 94 made around the mid 1920s. I don't think they started putting the stamp on till the 1930s or so. Maybe someone on here knows when they started, but it wasn't something that was always stamped on their barrels.
