Thinkin about a Mosin-Nagant. Anyone have one? I found reloading brass online. Boxer primers. Any opinions...especially from experienced owners...will be appreciated.

Not really what you would call experienced but I have had the oppurtunity to shoot 3 different Mosins and Especially for the moey they are really nice to shoot..Ammo is Cheap and parts are plentiful and if you like to tinker you can modify them or spruce them up endlessly. Very fun gun tio shoot too! My son has one and it shoots great!

I have owned two of them. Sold them both and regret it. My first one was an M38 Carbine. Made in 1943. It was a little rough (they were pumping them out as fast as they could during the war) but it shot well. Back in 2005 I paid $90 for it at a gun shop. A few months later I bought a pristine Mosin M44 Carbine, built in 1946 for $105. It was a beauty. Most likely because it was post war made and the workmanship was much better.

Buy one, Hombre. Fun as heck to shoot and a pretty good hunting/survival/shtf/trunk gun.

I broke down and went to Dick's and got a Dick's exclusive Savage 11v/t in .308. They were out of the Rem 700 for the same price. I got the rifle with a 4-12 x40 scope mounted and a nice Allen case for under 6 bills. Now...if I could just find some ammo...

I like the 24" bull barrel. The gun feels good and looks good. I just can't warm up to camo colored guns and their Remington was a camo job. I like what i got. I will post a pic as soon as I can get a decent setup for pics. But if you want to see one go to Dick's sporting goods site and look in their varminter rifle section.

Very Nice..I have the Hog Hunter in .308..I put a Muzzle break on the threaded barrel..It's become my GO TO gun. You will love it!

YOU GOT A GOOD ONE HOMBRE. Everything I've read on that gun/package is great. Only 1 gripe and that was feeding problem with last round out of 308 mag....?? Hundreds of great reviews. Now we got to see some RESULTS.....:D

I am anxious to shoot it, but now I am being hindered by the new job. Dang I hate having to rearrange my priorities.:D

Almost got it. But I wanted a bit longer barrel. It was a tough decision because the HH was a bit cheaper in price and had no scope.

I think I may go get one this week. I can get ammo for it and at least have something noisier than a 22 to whang away with.:cool:
