i am lefty and shot my whole life since i was nine years old i hunted small game and deer,i was a fair shot.i used my marlin 336c 30-30 and kept my shots around a hundred yards or so.i want everyone to know there is no accident or handicap you cannot overcome,i lost my left eye and thought my hunting days where over.i went to the range constantly and with my left eye gone i shot righty and i am a 100 percent better shooter righty than lefty and never looked at myself as handicapped, i just adapted.we all can overcome problems.there is always a way.anyone else on the board have posts of inspiration in shooting or life it would be nice to hear them...

Sorry to hear about the eye...but, like you said...it's only a handicap if you believe it so !

May I inquire how you lost your eye...?
thank you

well shooter when i was 23 i was in a bad car wreck where i literally broke every bone in my face even my pallat plus numerous other bones and internal injuries.by the grace of god i lived.i laugh ,i have more metal in my face than most toyota cars but even though it took a couple two years to get back on track i said lying in my bed that i was going to excell and strive and this is going to make me more determined and work harder and never cry or complain and i never did and i have to say it made me a better and stronger person by it.then go figure a couple years back my shop goes under because of the economy. my wife leaves me and i find out i had prostate cancer.i overcame everything without even a thought i flirted with the nurses and the cancer went into remission,my ex.in ten years we never fought and no kids we just grew apart so i kept everything and she got re married quickly,i hope she is happy.my business was my life i owned my gunshop for 9 years and was a respected member and gunshop owner,i was known to be a straight shooter and lose a sale before i sold someone a gun that i knew in a week they would come back to me hating.but i go to iraq as a mechanical engineer as i worked at ford my whole life in new york and go figure the little bit of sight i had in my one eye was destroyed when a frag went off as i was laying underneath a toyota putting in a clutch.but i always have a story to tell and i am still shooting, living, smiling and striving and the word "no" or "i can`t" are not in my vocabulary.i find alot of people defeat themselves before even trying in my mind i can do any thing and have the patience of a saint and will work on a project for days and never give up.thanks to my hard head and god i am writing and smiling and enjoying this fine forum here.so anyone can do anything they want they have to want to do it and not give up but thank you and i appreciate you asking.

guys from the bottom of my hear i thank you and shooter you are right no one gives you anything in life you gotta make it happen, just wanted to share and maybe inspire some people that may feel depressed about their life situation or a accident.we can all overcome in one way or another, stay positive.again thank you
i don`t have the words

This made my Sunday, thank you Moparman!
that was so super nice and kind i am at a loss for words.this is a firearms board but it is to bond and build friendships and tell our experiences and i felt it fitting to show not only me,anyone can overcome adversity and strive in their lives.i see perfectly normal people that can do anything use the system and we pay for them or they are drug abusers or alcaholics and do nothing with their lives when i see young men and women with down syndrome working and as happy as can be and excell more than these quote normal people who leach off the system and cost us money.you know who is my hero the greeter with down syndrome at the store handing out flyers and opening doors for people and is happy and is an inspiration.that is my hero.

axxe55,i am a person who makes the best out of every situation and wants to bring the best out of people and i pushed since i got on this board to not just show off guns which you guys see i have but to bring a more personal and friendly forum. where we are more then members we are friends and in this world of hardship and hate and uncertainty we all need to show the world each and everyone of us we have not lost our humanity and care about the man next to us and support them so your words make me see that my hardwork and sheer honesty are bringing us all together and that is my goal.anyone can just talk about guns but if there is a problem you can feel you can honestly talk to each and every person here and have support.it only takes one person to make a difference and start the domino affect on kindness.it is so easy to be kind when others are open and kind to you.i jump in head first in everything i do without concern or consequence as i know i am a good person and i see everyone i have spoken to or has posted are kind people too.i am just pushing it to the next level and see my kind friends here are responding to it.there are a million forums on the net lets show them all we stand out from all else because of our connection to one and another and our humanity in these dark days.i just want to spread hope.
