I'm starting to reload for my 27s in 25-20.im using 86 grain cast bullets.im getting lead splatters back on my case necks.is this something I'll have to put up with or will seating my bullets farther out help.my aol is 1.60. thanks

What and how much powder are you using? What is your primer?

Lymans 49th said max AOL for 86gr bullet is 1.592 so I'd think 1.60 is about max.try a depth seating Gage and see how far to the lands

Don't have a guage.would have to use the magic marker method and long seating the bullet, but have never had this problem with cast bullets in any rifle or pistol regardless of seating depth.

I've never heard of it either,just thinking of ideas...sounds like your well versed in reloading...
