I just bought a new Marlin 1895CB. I don't like the rake of the hammer spur. It doesn't look like an old Marlin to me. Can I heat it up and bend it a bit? I don't know if it's cast or forged. I'd clamp a "padded" vice grip on it to act as a heat sink where the spur starts to keep heat from the face of the hammer. Also I'd make sure it doesn't interfere with the bolt coming back. What do you think?
