I just inherited a Marlin 27 in 25 rimfire. It looks to be in very good shape for its age (which I am not sure about). Can anyone help me in assessing its actual age, identifying the peep sight, and whether there is any hope of finding 25 rimfire ammo short of buying brass. Any idea of the value? Thanks.

The peep sight is a Lyman. i think it's a type 2. Type 1s had a fold out peep and 2s you could screw in different inserts. Can't help with the rifle's date.
