Found a marlin 39A article II ( 1971) for sale. I was wondering what the value might be. They want $749.00. It has a nice (ouch) gouge in the stock about 2" long on the right side of the butt, some of the finish is wearing off on the left side. the metal looks really good.

I don't think they will drop that low. I made a mistake on a Golden Mountie and passed over it and regret not buying it.
I need a little schooling on what this 1971 Article II 39 is so I can attempt to be a little knowledgeable when I make them an offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
