Just bought a 795, and I have one question. I don't see a reason to do this, but wanted to know if it is possible in the event of a lost magazine or something. Can you, with no magazine in the gun, drop a single shot in the chamber, close and fire? I sometimes do that with my tube fed 60 for a trapped raccoon, so just curious.

If you just threw a bullet in there, I think it would fall on the ground without a clip to use as a floor. You could stick it in the chamber if your fingers are small and nimble enough. I wear a size 13 ring, and I can still load a shell in the chamber of a. 22 bolt action, as long as the clip is in.

Ha, yea, feed it into the chamber is what I meant.
