I've been using the above mentioned rifle in Cowboy Action shooting for 19 years now and I have started to have problems after about 12,000-14,000 rds down range. When I cycle the action the ammunition from the tubular magazine is picked up and chambered properly. Problem is that the hammer drops also requiring me to manually pull back the hammer in order to shoot the rifle. I figure that I have worn parts, I'm just not sure which ones. And thoughts?

Not for nothing, but 12k+ rounds, that rifle doesn't owe you a thing. Warms my heart to hear that it has performed for 19 years.

So when the hammer drops, I'm assuming it goes to half-cock and not dropping like it was fired onto a live round in the chamber?

Realistically, the hammer, mainspring, or trigger are worn so that the movement of cycling the action allows the hammer/trigger to slip out of full cock. Hammer and trigger are about $20-$25 each and the spring is about $12, plus shipping
