Memorial Day is a day when we honor those who gave their time and lives in service of our country. a day that we remember that many have died so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have. they deserve our heartfelt thanks and respect for what they did for our country. thank you to all who have served, to those fallen in war and conflicts, and to those who serve now, thank you for your sacrifices.

your welcome guys. i just wanted people to know the real reason for Memorial Day and what it means to me. that there are those who sacrificed their lives in service to our country so that we can enjoy the freedoms we do. i wanted them to know they are appreciated and respected for their service and should be honored.

my grandfather served four years in the Army during WWII in France and Germany. my father served in the Air Force for ten years, during the Vietnam war. i am proud of them for the service they did. my grandfather passed away in 1974 and never talked about the war and most of what i know about his time in the war was from my grandmother, many years later. my father doesn't speak a lot of his time in the Air Force either, but does sometimes just in general about daily routine activities.
