As you all probably know the M1Garand. Replaced the Springer 1903 . General Patton said it was the most important weapon ever designed....that sure is high praise from a Tank guy. This is mine. Its a CMP program RM1SPECIAL model. The receiver dates it to 1940.
Looks like CMP does a great job on refurbishing the M1. How does it shoot ? let us know. Their prices on the Service Grade are decent. About 3-400 under what people are TRYING to get around here.... And a close inspection reveals most of them are really RACK GRADE !!
This one is more than 3 or 4 hundred. It falls in the 1000 category all said and done but you are right they do an excellent job refurbishing. I hope to have a range report this coming week. I'm chomping at the bit to go shoot it.
Awesome looking piece of history my friend...!!
Just got a 98 Mauser today to go along with my M95 Steyr. I've posted pictures of the Steyr, but I haven't taken any pictures of the mauser yet.
Looking forward to pics and a review Gumpy !!
What I ment DUTCHS was around here a RACK GRADE is goin for $1000 and up. What CMP advertises for 6-700, and in better shape according to their description. "Nowhere" close to what yours is.
Ahhhhh. .I see now. So I did good? I know I am exceedingly happy with it. Looks like I got a nice price too!
Yes you got a good one. The Specials come with a NEW Crietrion Barrel, 1-10 twist, Chrome-Alloy steel, Parkerized, to Mil-Specs. New American Walnut stock and hand guards. Origional reciever, refinished, as well as internial parts. May have some new parts on the inside. THE GUN THAT WON WWII !!
Yes it did. I like the history of it as well as having the honor of owning and shooting one. A lot of Blood,Sweat and Tears in their history. I guess this is a great time to thank all of our vets.!!!! Thanks guys and gals....without you all sacrificing America doesn't exist.
