I have a Marlin model 781 which was my first gun and I have put an untold number rounds though it. A few years ago I began to experience trouble with feeding which still persists. With the bolt open and rounds loaded I have to thump the but of the rifle for a round to catch and then the cartridge carrier will come up and I can chamber a round. I am sure it either has to do with the cartridge carrier or something to do with the magazine tube I just was wondering if there are any thought on the most likely cause thank you.
