Just noticed ... The synthetic stock on the replacement gun I got back does not have metal sling studs. It has loops that are molded into the stock. I thought the one I sent off had metal sling studs, though I didn't take a picture of those. Every picture I find online of other 795s has the standard metal studs.

Yes, ours is not molded in like that and it was purchased last year. It also appears to be a bit more foreward too.

Any thoughts on benefits of the standard posts over the molded-in hoops?

I would think that the standard lug would be stronger and more durable. From what I understand, the molded-in lugs are reinforced with metal?? It's not a heavy rifle. Maybe OK.
My thoughts; It is what it is. Use it. Enjoy it. And if it shows signs of fatigue, drill the stock and install the screw in lug. :)

If they are reinforced, then I suppose it'll be okay.
