Have a new trigger and optic booster comming in the US MAIL. They were shipped from the supplier 6 days ago priority mail. Priority is advertised to be delivered 1-3 days ..... The booster is comming from Maine and the Trigger from Texas. The ammo I ordered from Arizona is by UPS and its RIGHT ON TIME. Why does the USPS lose BILLIONS every year .... another Government Ran Service .... says it all.

I hate the USPS, they can't deliver anything other than envelopes to my office. Anytime it's a package or something that requires a signature they sent it back saying the address doesn't exist but they obviously assigned us the address. Amazon uses them for the last mile delivery, they will ship FedEx to the post office and then have them deliver. The tracking updates are wrong, stuff says delivered and it's not, or I will get an update saying we attempted delivery and we were home all day. I've had to do 2 claims with Amazon in the past month for things that never got delivered correctly. I sent a gift card to my nephew in VA, I ordered it Dec 10th, promised delivery Dec 11th, shows up in the USPS tracking as delivered Nov 18th. Time travel delivery on something they never got. They SUCK.

Their tracking system is a Joke .... A bad and not funny one. All it shows is their ineptness. Why they cant go to UPS or FedEx and see how its done right is beyond me. I think on future orders I will specify one of the Commercial Carriers. A little more $$ but you get what you pay for.

I cant wait to see what you got:D Have you noticed that all shipping, Ups FedEx Usps is getting sloppy or carless with their deliveries, Remember when if you were not home they would leave it at a trusted neighbors house,or leave a card saying when you could pick it up.
Now they just ring a door bell and walk away.

USPS finally updated their tracking. Both items are on the truck for delivery today. Have to take the wife to an eye appt. at 1400. They will dilate here eyes so she dosnt, and shouldnt drive. Mail should be here by the time I get back. UPS dosnt come till late, late afternoon, its on the truck for delivery. I am the last stop at night. Just more ammo. I also order some RWS for lot testing this morning. He said it would ship today so should be here Wend. Its coming from Alabama.

Will first check out the Optical Booster. Its just a screw on lens. See how it looks. Then this evening I will change out triggers. Should have both ready to shoot tomorrow. I want to get the trigger down to under 1 oz. They advertise 1.5 to 3 oz. Most have theirs under 1 oz. I really wanted a "Flavio Fare" Trigger. They go down to .5 oz. But all dealers were out of stock. No date for new orders. They are made in Italy so ordering from the Mfg. is not a good idea.

Am hoping the booster will do the trick instead of popping for a NightForce 55X.

Report later this evening.

Got everything yesterday.

1. Optical Booster ... Screwed it on and wasnt impressed with it. Really cant see any difference. I will call them later and see whats up. Its a Money Back guarantee if sent back in 45 days. I really wanted it to work but for that money its a bust so far.

2. Jewell BRBR trigger ... I swapped out last night. Easy install. The Remington 2 oz trigger has a split sear. The sear and spring are left off as the Jewell has it all one piece. the Remington trigger was good but a little inconsistent. The Jewell Breaks at 3 oz. It is set at the upper limit. Will have to get a .05 hex as Jewell dosnt supply it with the trigger. I have probably hundreds and hundreds of hexs but instead of searching for it will just go get one. I want to adjust it down..down..down. Have to relieve the trigger quard as it sits to close to the bolt release and prevents it from freely depressing. All adjustment screws are located on the bottom of the trigger housing and can be done without taking off the trigger guard or removing from stock. Sear ingagement and over travel are preset. all Screws utilize a washer arragement and require no loktite to keep them in place. Its a keeper.

3. 2 bricks of SK Standard + ... shot about 25 rounds checking out the trigger and booster. shoots great. Will use it for practice and see if it is as good as the SK Match for the Factory matches. I shot up 6 bricks of it last year and think it will be OK. From Brunos in Arizona it was under $6 a box.

Ordered 11 test lots of RWS ammo yesterday. They gave a 10% discount on lot testing boxes. 10 lots of R-50. They only had 2 boxes of Rifle Match left so I got them. With over 30 lots of R-50 I had the tech pick 10. Lot testing is a hit and miss deal. Just have to shoot it and see. Hope to find one or two that is good in my rifle. Have 2 weeks to go back and order more of that Lot(s). After 2 weeks they release it for general sale.

Thanks for the information on the lot testing, I knew it was done, but didn't really know the process. There's probably more to it, but now I'm a little smarter today. Thanks.

Matt, lot testing of ammo is done for all guns, rifle/pistol, rim fire and center fire. Reloaders whip up batches with varying powder charges, bullets, primers, ect. they then shoot them and record the results. Usually lot testing is done by shooting groups. Every gun has it likes and dislike for different brands and lots within those brands. For instance Eley, I have heard loads in 40,000 round lots. So if you find a lot that shoots best for you, buy all you can get/afford. Once that lot is gone .....there is no more. Lot testing is an ongoing process. The one good thing about reloading once you find the right one, there is a never ending supply.

I've got 5,000 rounds of Eley that have never been shot ( or tested by me... )...gotta look and see what the lot # is...or was ( it's years old... 2008 ) and at the bottom of all my recent purchase .22lr ammo...

70.36 bricks of 500 each: 35,180 rounds. ( yea...I gotta spreadsheet to track ALL my ammo purchases and usage )

Wow man, a spread sheet? I keep a fairly accurate inventory of my ammo but not a spread sheet. And I thought that I was over the top but you got me beat. You da man! I love it. :))

Guess this comes under shooting gear. In testing lots of new ammo I have the problem of the variable/gusting winds during the daytime here in Missouri. Just about dark the winds die down (most of the time) but it is to dark to shoot. So I picked up a set of 3 solar powered flood lights from lows. The rechargeable batteries run the light at full brightness for 6 hours on a full charge. I can use 1,2, or all three. Overcast today but should get some charge. Will see tonight if it works to illuminate my target frame at night. I might end up having to run wire out to a standard light ...hope not. I will get about 6 hours charging today.

Checked with the company about ordering my wind flags for next season. I have been using ones I made two years ago with Just streamers. I did OK with them but time to update. I am getting 2 of the single vane flags, 2 of the double vane flags and a clip-on-wind meter. The dual vane flags have no propeller and will use the wind meter to gauge force of wind. the dual vanes will be used as the first two, 10 and 20 yards out. The single vanes have a propeller and you can gauge force by them. Still have a question posed about some specs which have not been replied to yet. If all checks out will send in the order tomorrow.

Today I will change my front rest windage knob from the left side to the right side. This will enable me to make windage adjustments using my right hand as I shoot Bass-akwards using my left eye. Will see if it helps. I can stay in position and not have to raise up and reach forward with my left side.

My set of wind flags and wind meter is on the truck for delivery today ..... :D
Now just have to wait for my rear rest to come back into stock. I am on the top of the waiting list and it was estimated at 6-8 weeks on 1/5.

Got the wind flags yesterday. I had one music stand so I adapted one to it and mounted a dual vane along with the wind meter. Set it at 10 yards next to my old DIY flag and shot over it for 3 cards. More Better ....Excellent in fact. :D Easy to read wind direction off the flag and force with the meter. Will go this morning and check out music stands at a local music store. I need 3 more stands. The music stands are height adjustable, collapsible and pack away neat into a container along with the flags. No more pounding stakes in the ground and having a bunch of different length poles to adapt to varying terrain. Also will make an adapter to set a bubble level on the pivot pin to properly set the flags.
