Not sure what the new models are made of since Rem took over but the others are made of cast aluminum.

If it is a new model, disassemble and look inside the receiver, if it looks grey like cast aluminum then.... Ta Da!!!! if not I couldn't tell you. As far as I have researched they are still aluminum, just maybe a cheaper form of cast.

Under the butt stock where you would put the mount for a strap. The bullseye is just a plug to fill the hole that is black and white. Supposedly the better guns had the plug and a white barrier between the butt stock and the pad. I personally don't like the white barrier, but that is me.....

Ah....So my info was wrong too... That is what I love about these forums, someone will eventually find the truth and prove someone else's info to be false.... But in the end we usually end up with the right answer to a question and everyone learn something... Awesome!!!

This is true.... So why does the darn thing keep falling out? Cause it wants something else in there.... ? Is it just tired of holding on? These questions need to be answered!!! hehe...
